A real post… 12 January 2010
So…
Hi again. Back for a real post. You know, one with more words than just introduction to some quick pics. Funny thing is, even if I don’t ACTUALLY post…I find myself constantly composing posts in my head. And I have a list of posts that I want to write. And as absolutely nerdy as it makes me… it is just pure crazy that in ACTUALITY I don’t post.
So, now it’s time to bust out a few things from the list of posts I want to write and haven’t yet. Embarrassingly you’ll notice some of these quick takes have been waiting for posts for A LONG TIME…

Last summer we removed another tree from our yard. It was goodbye tree version 5.0. This was by far the most involved and intense version. It was the huge pine tree in our front yard that we absolutely abhorred. And it was dying. Maybe only a little. But enough to tip the scale in the chainsaw’s favor. Here are some pics of the action and of the street full of tree branches:
My bro-in-law (house co-owner) was mainly in charge. He thought it would be fun to try to take the tree down the “old school” way, meaning he just wanted to play Pretend Lumberjack and swing an old axe. Needless to say, that “fun” didn’t last long before he realized that chainsaw massacre was a much better option. All in all, the tree came down on a Friday evening and we cleaned up the yard on Saturday. By Sunday a neighbor had even hauled away all the trunk rounds for firewood. Tuesday the city came and hauled away the branches as part of their monthly “green waste” pickup. Not a bad project. We were going to grind the stump and plant a new tree, but we kept putting it off until “next weekend” and that’s turning into next year…

May 2009 knocked this wish off the bucket list. We had toyed around with the idea of flying to LA for the show and making a weekend of it. But decided to use the $$ to purchase super sweet seats here at the run in SLC. We were center floor 4 rows back. A-MAZ-ING. Totally awesome. Totally hilarious. Totally breathtaking. And totally annoying that in the row behind us was a bunch of teenage girls pretending they were at a sing-a-long. Lame. But we can overlook that and still consider this one of the best evenings with The Warrior ever! He even admitted “that was way better than I expected it to be.”

And July 2009 marked my first rememberable (yup, made that one up) trip ever to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. We went there on vacation with all of TW’s siblings and their families. Super beautiful! And so much fun with the family. I was super preggo, so there was that slight damper on the hiking and motorcycle riding. But we had a blast. And FYI, in case no one tells you, like no one told me: Yellowstone Smells Bad. A Lot.
